I have bought a new projector.  Its the Sanyo PLV-Z5.  From all of the reviews I've read, we're going to love it.

http://www.projectorcentral.com/sanyo_plv-z5.htm  It looks like it's last year's model, but at $1095.00 delivered and no tax, it can't be beat.  I'll post more when I get it.

Last summer's project was to create a viewing area in the basement.  I never really used the basement for anything other than collecting junk or doing messy projects, so when I brought a video projector home during Christmas break and viewed some movies and played some Play station on a 70" screen, I knew what my basement was built for.

I started with studding out the walls.  Then I ran conduit, which is Cook county code, ran wires, installed switches and receptacles, ceiling cans and finally a new 20 amp circuit.  I ran speaker wire for a five channel surround system. Then I insulated, dry walled and dropped in a ceiling.  I still haven't dealt with the doorway situation.  I'll probably use some kind of drapery. 

I bought a projector from The Projector People. Great company.  Got a great deal on a PLV-Z1 Projector. 

I ordered my amp and speakers from

another fine internet electronics company.

Got a great deal on a Panasonic receiver and a set of Harmon Kardon speakers.
