This is a blog intended to bring our family and friends closer by giving them an opportunity to participate in a web discussion. I am new to blogging, so I don't know where this is going to take us, but hey, it's the 21st Century. Peace

Time for a quick update

Hi All,
It looks like I am getting to this blog about once a month. That's not really much, but at least it will give me/us an account of active events in the relatively recent past. Would I write in a diary? Probably not. This works, especially when I get occasional responses from friends and family. I was going to use the cliche of loved ones, but you're all that...

Things are going great...for me at work. I thought I'd get that out of the way first. I never would have believed that such a turn around could have occurred in such a short time. It has taken patience and a stifled tongue on my part for things to come around to my way of thinking. I really love working with kids. I like knowing them by name and by face and I really enjoy having them know me and acknowledge me in the library and in other public places. My co-librarian and I have come a long way. We talk regularly about our plan and how we see things and then we agree on how to handle various situations. Frankly, there is very little we disagree about. I would not have predicted that several months ago. Yeah, AV Guy is all but gone. It's Conan full-time and I'm glad to have him back.

Nora is at the end of her second year. She's almost completed the whole pledging thing for the new Delta Chi's. Her classes are going well. She's been accepted into the education department and has begun doing clinical observations. Her cooperating teacher told her she has a special gift for working with kids. She plans to work this summer and to take Biology at the Junior College.
I am actually looking forward to being with her most of the summer as our travel plans will probably be abbreviated.

Daisy peed on the bathroom rug, got yelled at by Mary and by me and when I sent her out the door she just kept going...about a mile in all. As it happened, a neighbor saw me running after her while I was wearing my pajamas and stopped and picked me up and raced ahead of her so I could get out and retrieve her. It wasn't funny, but you can laugh if you want. My neighbor did.
Daisy has since come back to her senses and is back to normal.

Mary is going through a ton of tests. She had a bone marrow biopsy on Monday the 7th. Needless to say, she was not looking forward to it and it still hurts. She's been carrying around a half gallon of pee she needed to collect for her big testing day at Rush on Wednesday the 9th. We got an itinerary with a highlighted map and strict time schedule which leaves time for lunch on the run. All of this is to culminate in a discussion with Dr FunG uy. Hopefully we will get a schedule of events so we can begin planning the big event.

Just got a call from the Principal...gotta go. I'll let you all know how Wednesday goes. Promise.
Peace and love,
Rob
