This is a blog intended to bring our family and friends closer by giving them an opportunity to participate in a web discussion. I am new to blogging, so I don't know where this is going to take us, but hey, it's the 21st Century. Peace

minus day four

So, it's a seven day regimen and they cound down to zero which is the transplant day. Day six was check in day. We basically met everyone who was to have any interaction with Mary during her stay at "the very expensive spa". What a wonderful place Rush is. We have not met anyone who was not as plesant as could be, helpful or knowledgeable in his or her role. The room is small, but small enough that Mary can pretty reach every nook while teathered to her pump, including her bathroom. The chemistry is pretty intense. She is on a two-a-day right now and for the next few days. The combination of anti-nausia drugs is keeping her pretty dopey. She told me this afternoon that she can't really stay awake for an entire television show much less keeping her mind on reading. Last night we took a little walk around the ward and then sat down in the lounge to watch the news and she had difficulty staying awake for that as well. Actually, I don't blame her. I really don't know why they even call it the news.
I digress...
One thing to celebrate is that the food is not terrible. Although today it's chicken and chicken. Last night it was mashed potatoes and ratouille (not made by rats) and some kind of Key Lime mousse. Her cold beef plate came on bread (bad) and the mousse was on a graham cracker crust which she had to avoid, but the food over all is well prepared and there is variety.
That's all I really have to report for now. Give me a call and I can give you her number.
She's in room 1007 Kellog at Rush if you want to send her a card.
That's all for now.
Keep the prayers and good thoughts coming.
Rob

The prayers are being lifted, my friend. Please let Mary know how much she is in my heart and mind right now and how much I wish I could be there in person! Much love to you all!
