Summer's in full swing
I know it's been a while since I've posted, but I've been very busy working on my summer routine. Actually, I have no routine. I like my coffee whether it's at 6:00 a.m. because I have an early tee time or at ten because we stayed up late watching ER reruns and videos. Nora signed us up for this Blockbuster thing whereby movies come in the mail. I really like it. Whether or not we like the movie, we can return it to the store for an instant exchange. We've decided to keep the service for the summer.
Nora did have all four wisdom teeth removed. That was quite a week of whining and complaining. I think she's all better now. She has completed badminton camp and is now into her "real" job of teaching swimming lessons at the city sink (Orland Pool). She is really good with kids and seems to adapt to the schedule well. She's out of the house at 8:00. I don't think she's seen 8:00 since last year. It's great having her home. We realize that it is an adjustment for all of us. She's actually part kid and part roommate. The balance is a bit iffy at times.
Mary has completed her third chemo treatment. For the most part she feels like crap, but she makes every effort to put on a good face and go about her day. It's tough seeing her when she's tired or in pain, but the strength she demonstrates by taking each day as it comes is a testament to her McNaughton character. Our summer plans will continue. We're going to see Carole and Daniel in Florida and we will be going to California in August. We haven't been to Florida for several years (mostly health related reasons) so we are way overdue.
Dan and Nancy and Pete were in for a few days this week. Dan's mom died. That was sad, but it was great to see old friends again. We miss them. They live in Raleigh now. Sounds like a nice place to live. Hope we will get to visit them someday.
I've recommitted myself to exercise. My goal is 45 minutes a day. I took too much time off during my depressed school year and I've come to the conclusion as Earl would say, "that enough is enough". So, it's time to get my FA back to the gym. Been there a couple of times and and I am already happy for this decision. Actually, I am happy for the action. It's easy to decide, but acting is the challenge.
OK, that's it for now. Mary has come down and the day has truly begun.
Peace to you and to those you love.
Keep in touch.

Glad you're summer is going well. I'm so freakin' jealous of your 10am coffee time.
For future reference, netflix is better than blockbuster online for several reasons. 1- they don't ever censor movies (which blockbuster does a ridiculous amount of)... 2- blockbuster gives megabucks to all sorts of scary conservative causes and Bushies. Netflix is the same setup, however, with getting movies in the mail. And no late fees which rocks!
Mary is freakin' amazing.
